PERFECT

Many of you know my Gran suffered from a major stoke the day after Christmas 2006. She had right side neglect causing her to not be able to walk or use the right side of her body. Being the best daughters a mom could ask for, my mom and aunt, jumped right in and without discussion moved Gran in with them. For three years, they poured their heart, soul, time, and energy into giving Gran the best care possible. They had to step out of their comfort zone many time to 'confront' people who weren't doing right by Gran. They dealt with multiple broken bones, falls, sleepless nights, many more mini strokes, and people taking advantage of them, but NEVER let Gran know that they were tired, stressed, and overwhelmed. They did it all because they loved their mommy.
On November 10th, Gran had another stroke that she would not recover from. She went into hospice- all with her daughters by her side 24 hours a day. On November 21st, Gran passed away. She was the kindest woman I have ever known. She was BEAUTIFUL....barely any wrinkles at age 88 (maybe I'll be that lucky!). She was quiet, caring, thoughtful, and loved by many. I am so, so ,so sad to have lost my Gran and will miss her more than I think I realize. But I am sadder that my mom and March have lost their mommy. She would be proud of the daughters she raised.

Thanksgiving feast

this is CC's new haircut! Doesn't she look like a big girl
7 little Indians

Her Indian name- Princess Flower Elephant...she came up with it all by herself!

lunch was great. Christian loves when her daddy comes to see her at school. It makes her so excited!
CC's school had a Thanksgiving feast for everyone. It was so cute and the kids get so excited when parents come. Emory was great and hung out in the stroller taking in everything. She went out with a bang though.....Emory has gotten REALLY fast at grabbing at things (and she grabs at EVERYTHING). AS we were leaving, she somehow grabbed Ms. Celia's coffee mug and spilt coffee everywhere.....oopps! Regardless we had a fun fun time with Christian.

somethin' out of nothin'

the sign says 'Christian's Princess Tower- knock before entering"....she loved it (and will probably be playing with it for a while since we had to fork over a butt-load of money for the stinkin' water heater.)
CC and I had fun coloring....she kept telling me not to scribble!

video

UGH....we unexpectedly had to get a new water heater because ours busted (Merry Christmas to us!). The only positive thing about the whole thing was the box that the water heater came in. CC and I have had the best time decorating and playing in our new 'Princess Tower'. It has a door, 2 windows, and a peep hole. I think Mimi would be proud of us.....(she likes to make creative things out of boxes).

The video is of Emory splashing in the water. She usually takes a bath with Christian, but tonight had the bathtub all to herself. She also has graduated to sitting in the tub instead of in the little mesh chair..Isn't she cute!

SEW much fun~

I don't know what's cuter....the shoes or her little thighs and belly

So we finally had a day of nothing to do. After church, I made these cute little shoes that I have been wanting to sew but haven't had the time. Aren't they cute. I originally bought a pattern of of etsy but found this easier pattern online for FREE! Check it out (if you like to sew).....baby shoes. you only have to buy fabric quarters and it's plenty to make a few pair of shoes.

Conversations with Christian:
1. (Christian's Sunday School teacher is a very nice, sweet, older lady named Ms. Betty. Ms. Betty has gray hair. On our way to church this morning, this is what CC said):
CC: Mommy, Daddy. I don't like Ms. Betty's hair.
Daddy: Why?
CC: It looks WEIRD!!!!!!!!!

2. I volunteered in the nursery this morning, so on the car ride home Bryan was telling me about the Sunday School lesson. The topic was fathering/mothering your child to maturity and how not to give in to everything your child wants. They watched a video of Donald Miller and he gave an example of how if you have cooked macaroni for dinner and your child wants chicken nuggets to not give in. It will help teach your child respect, kindness, maturity, and to appreciate what they have. So....long story short...we discussed this the whole way home about how we have given CC 'chicken nuggets' quite often and we need to be better about giving in to avoid a meltdown. AS soon as we pulled into the driveway, CC yelled out "I WANT CHICKEN NUGGETS!!!!!!"

Social Butterfly

As soon as CC got to the party, she grabbed Sully's hand and they ran off together.
She had so much fun playing with her friends from school. It was adorable to watch her.

This is how CC and Sully were the entire time we were celebrating. At one point, I walked up to Sully's dad and told him I think CC has a little crush. He showed me a picture he took where it looked like Sully was going in for a kiss. His grandmother did tell me that he talks about Christian all the time, so it made me feel better that the feeling was mutual!

We came home after the party to play outside....

Emory loved her swing too

The Meacham's came over to watch the game and eat chili (which was the best batch that Bryan has ever made!). Emory and Elise were so cute staring at each other and trying to trade pacifiers.

Of course, these two turned into princesses immediately.

Emory found herself in the mirror and it was so cute. She kept trying to kiss the baby
WHAT A PERFECT WEEKEND! The weather was perfect and it was full of spending time with friends. Christian had her first birthday party of a friend that we didn't know the parents (does that make sense?). It was a little boy in her class that she has a little crush on. It's the cutest thing ever. She had the best time playing with all of her friends and seeing Ms. Celia outside of school. Then we had the Meacham's over for the UGA/AU game. Even though we lost, it was still fun.

smiles, dates, and parties....oh my!

Emory must be going through a separation anxiety phase b/c she has to have me in sight all the time. On this day, she did not want to take a nap b/c I wasn't in there. So she just laid on the couch staring at me. how can I say no to a face like this? Isn't she the cutest! Is she laughing at me???
Christian had her last soccer game on Thursday. So it was a big night with medals and a party

The coaches and the teammates showing off their medals.

Angela brought her 1950's video camera (just kidding Angela :):):), so the girls video taped each other. This is Sophia telling the camera about her medal.

Hot dog party at the game. Can't wait for the spring season

I had a little going away party for Shanna last night, so Bryan and Christian had a date. She was SOOOO excited. They went to eat Mexican (where CC told Bryan she wanted a beer!), went to see Disney Christmas Carol , and got ice cream. What a fun date!

Then Christian came home and jumped right in with the girls. She loved it!

The night kinda went in a different direction when a car got stuck in the mud at the end of our driveway. The police and tow truck had to come. hehehehe

Christian loved being in the middle of all of the commotion. She got Shanna to take her outside to see what was going on . She is definitely going to be a social butterfly when she grows up!
