Emory

Whoooo's turning ONE?!

I took the napkin to Edgar's and they made the cake and baby smash cake look just like it!

I made different collages of of her first year of life. one of her first few days in the hospital, one with our family, one with her and her Gigi, and one with just our family.
The middle is a Lollipop bouquet. I had little owl lollipops made for everyone to take home with owl tags that said "Thanks for making Emory's first birthday a HOOT!"

What a cute pinata, huh?!

This is a collage of a picture from each month of her life. I bought a 12 x 12 canvas and glued the picture to it.

collage of her newborn pics.

This was right before she almost burned her finger! Thank goodness for Daddy's quick reflexes!

CC wore the same romper, hat, and bib for her first birthday.

Look at Georgia and Emory trying to join in the fun!

Emory's little friends!
(Lucy, Kate, Emory, Georgia)
I wish I had enough space to put all 150 pictures that I took to try to get a good shot.:):)
We celebrated Emory's first birthday the night of CC's first dance recital. Everything turned out perfect. The weather was perfect and Emory had a blast. We have such wonderful friends and family that helped make Emory's first birthday so special! Thanks everyone!

1st Dance Recital

She is 3rd from the right

She got flowers and candy from everyone. It made her so happy!
CC's first dance recital was Saturday. After a very long rehearsal, she was so excited to get on stage and show the audience her dance! WE spent all morning getting dressed, curling our hair, and putting on make-up. It made her even more excited that people she knew would be in the audience to watch her. Gran, Papaw, Mimi, Grandaddy, Daddy, Emory, and I all went to see her do her dance to "Ballin' the Jack".
CC and I had to sit in the balcony to wait for our turn to go backstage. While up there, I thought I was going to break down and start crying. I just can't believe that I am a mom of an (almost) 4 year old who was about to get on stage to show us her dance. I was a back stage mom, so I was able to be with all the little girls as they were getting ready. They were all so excited and ready to dance. CC did AWESOME on stage and was so proud of herself. She was even more excited that everyone who came to see her gave her flowers and candy! Thanks so much! It really meant a lot to her and us.
Here is her group on stage. She is 3rd from the right....

growing up

Do you remember when Emory wouldn't go down the stair in our house?

Well, look at her now!!!

Coming to an end

CC and her great friend, Lydia

Christian's 3K class (minus a few). what a fantastic year it's been. She has had the best teacher ever.

after spending all morning at the park and taking a short nap at home, we headed to dance recital rehearsal.

Christian's group was number 21 out of 22 dances!!! So there was a LOT of waiting around, which is not easy for 3 year olds.

3 hours later we finally made it on stage!
Christian's school is gearing up for the end of the year. The 3K group had their end of the year party at the park down the street. It was a really fun time watching CC play with her friends, and I got to visit with all the moms.
Then we had dance rehearsal for her FIRST ever dance recital. The costumes are absolutely adorable! I'm not sure how this happened, but CC's dance was second to last in the show! But for some reason we still had to be at rehearsal at the very beginning. We all had a hard time keeping the girls calm after 3 hours of waiting! It was so cute to watch the girls on stage showing off what they had learned in class.
When did Christian become such a big girl!?

12 months stats

This little girl melts my heart
a healthy 24 pounds!

so excited when Daddy showed up.
cute!

It's a little harder to keep her occupied while waiting....

Today we had Emory's 12 month well baby appointment. She weighs 24 pounds (90 %) and is 31 inches long (97%) AND.......PERFECT!!!! She is starting to walk more on her own, but still prefers to crawl. She loves to give open mouth kisses and has recently learned to blow kisses. She will put her hands over the eyes to play peek-a-boo, clap her hands for patty-cake, and throws her hands in the air and wait for you to do it too!

She mimics everything we do, especially Christian. For example, the other day CC and I were playing dentist and doctor (teeth cleaning and check my ears). CC had a play banana that was used for cleaning my teeth AND looking into my ears- I know- you are jealous aren't ya!!! Emory came over to play and grabbed the banana and did exactly like CC was doing.

She says mama, dada, ball, hey, hello when 'talking on the phone', says 'woof' when she hears the dogs next door barking, and just learned to say uh-oh when something falls. She is soaking everything in. She is trying to say everything we are. While in the doctor's office, she asked if Emory responded to the word 'No'. Right then, Emory turned around and said "No"!!!! The doctor said, "Well, I see she's talking!!"

She takes a 1 1/2 morning nap and 2 hour afternoon nap. She goes to bed at 7:00 and wakes up around 7:00. She is slowly starting to like whole milk and seems to be okay without having a bottle (only 2nd day without a bottle, so hopefully that will stay the same). She eats anything and EVERYTHING! She is so sweet and loves people. We love her and think she is absolutely, positively PERFECT!

32

My Hubby, Bryan, turned 32 on May 9th. Happy Birthday Bryan. I love you more every day. You are an incredible friend, amazing husband, and AWESOME Daddy! I'm lucky.
Bryan's birthday was also Mother's Day this year. My mom gave me this book, Bringing Up Girls. and I love it. Thank you mom. It's a great book and I recommend it to anyone who has a girl. I think this might become my standard baby gift to all moms having girls.
