crafts

today we began making Easter eggs. While the girls were napping I boiled the eggs.
As I was cooling them off, I started thinking about how yummy egg salad sounded. then I started peeling the eggs! UGH!!! I was so mad at myself! I forgot what I was doing....major brain fart!

So, tomorrow we will continue our princess Easter egg making. and hopefully I won't have a craving for egg salad again! (do you see the Halloween picture hanging on the wall. for some reason, CC loves to hang this picture in various places around the house)
I can't tell you what this is, but it's awesome!

more info next week! I just had to give you a 'sneak peek'!

weekend

This is how we ended our weekend! Bryan took Christian to bed and didn't make it out! After about 1.5 hours, I decided to check out the situation- this what I found!
our Sunday School class had a craw fish boil on Saturday- everyone had such a fun time.

60 lbs of crawfish!

even though she is a little under the weather, she had fun

the gumbo was great!!!!:)

we cleaned out Christian's bow drawer- Emory found a few that she wanted!

a few first

(this isn't really a first...just a picture of CC at a birthday party)
First #1: CC had her first field trip on Friday. Her class walked a few blocks to the ice cream store down the street from the school. She was so excited she could hardly stand it.

Everyone had a mommy or daddy with them, so they all felt special while heading to get ice cream at 9:30 in the morning in 50 degree weather! Whatever....ice cream is good no matter what time or temp, right!!!???

Her favorite, Ms. Celia

Then we headed to eat dinner with our great friends, the Scroggins and Ashford's (Ass-birds as CC says!). First #2: The kids had a booth all to themselves. We were at the table across from them, so we could intervene at any moment, but they were really good and super excited to act like big kids!

uh-oh!!

Okay- so the 2 girls have a crush on Andrew (the blond that you can't see b/c Ava and CC are on top of him). Ava's face is pretty unhappy that CC decided to come over and interrupt! CC did have specific sitting arrangements where she sat by Andrew and Ava sat on the other side! Have they already started fighting over boys!!
First #3: Little Emory is on her first prescription of antibiotics:((:( After dinner last night, I noticed Emory felt a little warm. And she didn't sleep well at all last night and seemed to very sensitive. After a few test run at the doctor they put her on antibiotics (not contagious, so nobody worry!!). I feel so bad for her when she isn't feeling well......breaks my heart.
First #4: CC is going to her first craw fish boil tonight and I made red velvet cake balls for the first time! I know she will have so much fun with some of her friends from school- she even put herself to nap so she could wake up in time to go!!!

Who went to the zoo on Friday!!??

The same 4,000 people that were at the McWane center yesterday were at the zoo today

She had the best time going round and round. My dad said she kept giggling out loud!

We ran into Cooper and John Patrick! CC was so excited!!

My parents came in town, so we headed to the zoo. Luckily we got there early b/c by the time we left, cars were almost to the highway.
We headed to the kid's area first, which wasn't that crowded. We had a great time petting the animals and riding the carousel. After lunch, we took a bathroom break, where I quickly realized that Emory needed a diaper change- ASAP! I'll spare you the details...let's just say it was so bad I had to throw her clothes away! From our incident yesterday, I was smart enough to pack a change of clothes........we went home shortly after the bathroom break.
I'm beginning to learn that I don't do well in crowds! Next spring break, we might head to the beach:):):)
PS- my mom and I went to see R-Patz new movie Remember Me today. Very good- kinda sad but really good. Even my mom liked it. And my main squeeze, Robert, was great in it!

The Griswolds go to McWane Center

The day started off perfectly normal. We met the Meachams and Scroggins at Mcwane Center to see Dora and play. As I was getting ready, I saw on the news that the day before Mcwane had over 4,000 people show up.......
The little girls played in the baby section. CC and Sophia played in Itty Bitty Magic City. Ava was being somewhat quiet and not really wanting to play.

(Kate saying, "Yep....I'm sittin' up!!!)
Then Ava said she didn't feel well, but we didn't think that much of it. Don't think we're bad mommies- we were already watching 6 kids in an overcrowded space.
(do they get any cuter than this!!)
Then we looked at Ava and she was pale and saying she might throw up. So, Denise took Ava to the bathroom while Angela and I kept the 3 babies (all in strollers) and the other 2 girls. In the meantime, Emory's juice cup leaked, leaving her shirt soaking wet. Luckily, Angela had another shirt. As I put the new shirt over Emory's head, Denise and Ava came up and Ava's face and lips were WHITE AS A GHOST! I've never seen anything like it. We all freaked out and told Denise to go find someone and we would meet her downstairs with Kate. So, here we are...Emory with half a shirt on, pushing 3 strollers and trying to round up 2 wild girls in a sea of children.
We somehow make it down to a very tiny quiet room (yea right!) in the middle of Mcwane Center. Ava was looking better but saying she was cold and shaking. So they left to head to the doctor. Angela and I take our girls to eat lunch and play a little more.
About 10 minutes into playing and things had calmed down, I couldn't find Christian!!! I stayed calm at first, then began panicking thinking that someone snatched her b/c she is so cute. I started asking people if they had seen a cute little girl with a big purple bow. One lady's response, "Uhh...Honey, I don't know who I seen in this place."- Whatever lady!
Luckily, Sophia was screaming with me and helped me find her! She was playing with another girl in a different area. CC got in trouble.
Then Denise called. Ava had a virus and turned so pale b/c it came on so quickly.
Angela and I decided to leave and take the girls to TCBY.
Got lost on the way.
Christian screaming the whole time that she wanted Sophia in the car.
When we get there Emory had the biggest blow out of her life. It was everywhere and I had to change her in the back of my car and use a pair of pants from Angela. I was so frazzled I went into TCBY asking for a vodka tonic and the guy just looked at me and pointed to the flavors of yogurt and said that's all they have. UGH!!!!!!!
Moral of the story....don't go to Mcwane center during spring break. I just might never go back!

FUN FUN FUN

My BFF since 2nd grade is getting married in May, so 13 of her closest friends headed to the beach to celebrate her last few months of being single. AND LET ME TELL YOU...............we sure did have fun! We were by far the oldest people around with it being spring break, but we didn't let that get in the way of acting like we were 21!! We partied like rock stars and had the best time together. I can't wait to get together with all the girls for Shanna's wedding.

Come on SPRING!!!!

first off....please excuse CC's outfit..she INSISTED on wearing these pants and a headband with NO bow....ugh! She fit in with all the other bama fans there (j/k.....that was Bryan's joke!)
dare devil! She has never played on this spider web and loved it!

notice Bryan...he was super nervous that she was going to fall.

poor Christian...Emory would not leave her alone!

Ahhhhhhhh....a lion!

inside a fence with goats...not my cup of tea, but CC loved it

my sweet Emory

CC LOVED this llama- mainly b/c of the book Llama, Llama mad at Mama. (this is a llama, right!?)

Christian's class just finished a unit on dental health and could NOT get over these yellow teeth.

Sunday was gorgeous so we headed to the zoo with the rest of Birmingham. It was a great time with the family. I can't wait for the summer where we can hang out in the splash pad.
Also- I just got an email from babycenter that now is the perfect time in Christian's life to start having chores. So.....I am jumping on this......finally- SOMEONE to clean the house...heheheehe!:):)

Let the partying begin

Lucy is the first of many 1st birthdays we will be going to in the next few months! We love a good party, so we can't wait!
Here's the adorable birthday girl!
family shot

"Mom...what are you doing?"

"Daddy, can you believe this cake is for ME!?"

This is becoming a regular occurrence around our house. Emory wants everything that CC has!

PAR-TAY!!

Phillip making Emory and Lucy laugh with the puppet!

Lucy loved the doll that Emory and CC gave her.

this is the best picture of everyone looking.
We made a quick trip to celebrate Lucy's first birthday. I CANNOT believe that all of us with little babies are about to have their first birthday. I feel like Fran just had Lucy and Emory was still in my belly (and sometimes it still looks like it!!!). Time goes by so fast.
PS- the new thing that we are doing around here is CC puts on a "cheerleading/singing/dancing- at-the-top-of-her-lungs " show while Emory sits in the baby doll stroller and claps for Christian. It is absolutely hilarious and ear-piercing. I will have to catch it on video and show you. Every now and then, we will catch Emory making a face that says- 'What in the world is my sister doing?!" We just want to tell her to get used to it b/c we have a feeling that we will be sitting through many of these 'performances' throughout our little Christian's life. She definitely puts on a good show and I'm sure Emory will be right there with her in a few years!
