Christmas Night

We got all dressed up in our Christmas dresses and headed over to my SIL's house for more Christmas fun. It was great to have everyone living in the same town, so we got to see all of our family on Christmas. Bryan, the girls, and I headed over early in the afternoon to see what the boys got and exchange presents.
My parents then came over a little later for dinner.

I meant to take more pictures but it kinda gets crazy with 5 kids around, so I didn't get many. This is uncle Bryan and Carter searching for money with the metal detector we got him! We also got Gaines a Fireman hat that makes a very loud siren noise. He loved it and wore it the entire night. Bryan kept trying to sneak to turn it off but he would say "Hey, I need that on!"

Mimi and Grandaddy gave CC a complete Rapunzel costume complete with wig and light up shoes. She LOVED LOVED LOVED it and wants to now wear it constantly while she walks around slowly making us call her Tangled or Rapunzel!
Isn't this wig great! You almost can't even recognize that it is Christian!! She is obsessed with all things Tangled, so she was in heaven with all the stuff she got for Christmas!

And Emory sure didn't know it was her sister. she ran right up to her and hugged her! She NEVER does that!

She even posed for a picture with the mysterious princess that appeared! Isn't that funny! It was such a fun, perfect Christmas day!

Christmas morning

SANTA CAME TO OUR HOUSE!!!!!!!!!!!!! The girls must have been GREAT this year b/c they got WAY to much! Santa even brought Emory a new diaper pail....I guess after 5 years of holding dirty diapers, he decided that there is no time like the present to bring her a new one!

As soon as CC saw Rudolph's nose, she darted off to bed. We forgot to lay out the cookies and milk for Santa while she was awake, so we put two of the best looking ones.

On Christmas Eve, CC told us that Santa just comes to the house to pick up Stewie so he can go back tot he North Pole. So she FREAKED out when she saw all the toys he brought her and Emory.

Some of the favorite gifts for Christian were a Caboodle (remember those growing up) full of makeup and brushes, a Jesse doll, a Tiki monkey (a monkey that CC has from her classroom), moon dough, and dog on a leash.

Emory did not know what to think of all the toys in the den. She just kinda stood around not knowing what to think! Some of her favorite gifts Santa brought were a dishwasher, smarties, a vacuum cleaner, and the diaper pail (well...at least her nose is happy!!)

Then we remembered the carrot we laid out for Rudolph....

so Pawpaw and CC went to see if he ate it. Christian could. not. believe. it!! Look at that face!!

Emory decided that there was way too much going on for her! She just wanted her mama:)

After we played and checked out our toys and stockings, Christian and Gran made monkey bread. When I was growing up, we always made monkey bread Christmas morning.....YUMMY! Then we spent the rest of the morning playing and playing and playing! And how exciting was it to have a WHITE CHRISTMAS!!!

Christmas EVE

While we cooked, CC painted Pawpaw's toe nail with her new fingernail polish! WHAT A GREAT PAPAW! The funny part was when he got out of the shower the next day saying he scrubbed and scrubbed his toe with soap and it didn't come off! So, if anyone sees Pawpaw soon, ask to see his toes! (ask Bryan's too.....he got BOTH feet painted BRIGHT pink and orange:):):)

Then we sat down for dinner....Pawpaw found in a wine magazine a wine chiller that you could decorate. So, he made this for our Christmas dinner.

Stewie spent his last night at our house before heading back to the North Pole at the dinner table with us! We sure are going to miss having Stewie around!

'Then more presents! Emory loved her new bouncy Robee!

Daddy, CC, and Emory got a fun 'boy' toy....a motorcycle man that goes really fast!

just two girls who are gaga over Robert Pattinson!

Then we headed out to put our reindeer food out and leave Rudolph a carrot.

We then looked up in the sky for Rudoplh's nose AND SURE ENOUGH- we saw it....so we had to run run run to bed since Santa was so close! (this works wonders to get them to bed!) CC was so excited, she went straight to sleep without any lights on (usually we have the lamp on and the closet light on!). When I went to check on her it was pitch black! She must have been too scared to say anything incase Santa was there!!!

Christmas Eve DAY

This year we decided to slowly open presents throughout the day, so the girls could have a chance to play with them instead of opening and throwing it to the side to open another present. So, we basically spent every hour on the hour opening a new present, which CC absolutely loved!

CC opened another one of her favorite things......Tangled Rapunzel hair braider. She loves it (us,...not so much b/c it requires us to do most of the work!!!)

She also got a Tangled bike from Gran and Pawpaw (can you see a theme!). They went ahead and let her open it since it was supposed to be rainy/snowy weather on Christmas. We rushed outside to practice riding. She is a great bike rider and LOVES her big girl bike.

Daddy even taught her to use the hand brakes and turn the handles!

CC helped make a calendar for both Gran and Mimi with pictures from the past year. They both loved it!

When we were at the grocery store before Christmas she saw a Christmas tube of Resse's Cups and wanted to get it for Pawpaw! We wrapped it and he was so surprised!

Emory's favorite present...a $.99 light up toy!

You know it's a good day when you spend all day in your PJ's!

CC made and decorated many cookies for Santa while Gran and I cooked Christmas dinner. Delicious!

and the gifts begin.....

My parents got here late Thursday morning, so our Christmas officially began. While the girls ran some errands, Pawpaw and Daddy brought in all the toys they brought with them (and put together some Santa things). When we got home, CC was so overwhelmed- she could hardly stand it! We let her and Emory open their presents from Courtney. Mainly b/c I know Courtney's gift was THE gift that CC has been talking about FOREVER...a pillow pet! I knew she would freak out and she did! She hasn't put it down!

Emory loved opening presents too! Almost as much as she loves her Pawpaw! look at how happy she is in this picture!

Christian's Christmas party

CC and her friend, Bella

socializing

presenting Ms. Donna with her gift tree.

Ughhhhh....before I tell you what this is- last year I bought a pre-made gingerbread from Target for Christian's class. It was very easy to put together and the kids really enjoyed it. So, this year I picked one up while I was at Michael's. I didn't read about it- just bought it b/c I remembered they loved it last year. WELL.....learn from my mistake....DON'T BUY ONE FROM MICHAEL'S!!! You had to make the icing by blending it for 3 mins in a mixer. then after putting it together you have to wait 1 hour. So, poor Ms. Donna opened it thinking it was easy (b/c I told her it was!). This was the outcome.....SORRY Ms. Donna and all 13 kids who were excited about decorating a ginger bread house! They sure did give it their best!
(no pictures of her Christmas crafts b/c our carpet is being cleaned today and CC's tree is currently laying sideways on her bed- they sure were cute though!)

Christmas activities

Christian and I all dressed up to go to the Alabama Theatre

We had a lunch date with Sophia and Mrs. Angela at Brio- yummy!

The girls were so well behaved and had a great time

The Alabama Theatre has a children's day with where they play Christmas music while playing the organ, then they play 3 short Christmas movies- Rudolph, Frosty the Snowman, and How the Grinch Stole Christmas. It was a lot of fun.....we're going to add it to our list of Christmas traditions!

Then Sunday we made a gingerbread house (turned out better than the one I sent for Christian's class to make- pictures to come)

Can you tell I'm tired?!

Then Emory realized you could actually EAT the icing!

and she became VERY interested!!!

So cute!
WE LOVE CHRISTMAS AROUND HERE!!!

Party Day for Emory!

For Emory's party I put together the party favors. I signed up for it b/c I found these adorable felt Santa bags in the $1 section at Target. I went a little overboard, I think, b/c I ended up spending all weekend and most every night this week getting them together (for only 9 kids!)...it's reindeer food and clear ornaments with their pictures.

Look at all the ornaments they did for us!! We LOVE them. I bought each of the girls trees for their rooms to put their ornaments on.....looks like I should have gotten Emory a bigger tree like we did Christian!

And this CRACKS ME UP!!!!! Her teacher had Christmas cards made for us when they had cookies with Santa one day! Isn't this hysterical! I love it!
Tomorrow is CC's party....can't wait to see her Christmas crafts!
