perfect weekend- Sunday

Another perfect day! After Sunday School, we headed to the zoo! It was perfect weather and all the animals were out.

The monkeys were very active today! At one point, Emory put her ishy and paci down in the corner. One monkey ran right over to the window to see it. Emory thought it was great!

then she became worried about her ishy! We can't live with our ishy and paci!

We went right at her nap time, so our zoo trip could have gone either way...really well or REALLY BAD! I think this picture was taken at a point when she was trying to keep herself awake and had a burst of energy before she crashed! She actually didn't fall apart until we were heading to the car.

Even the ant eater was out! I have never see it before...kinda weird

tried to get a family pic......way to close to Emory coming down from her high!

Emory wanting to be like CC and Hudson in the Kangaroo area!

Emory loved feeding the flamingos. ( I think it's time to start thinking about a spray tan.....fair white skin is pretty on little ones....not so much on me! and are those wrinkles on my arms???? eww!!!!)

perfect weekend- Saturday

What a perfect weekend! The weather was perfect and we had nothing but fun things to do!

CC and I met our great friends, Kelley and Hudson, for a mexican lunch date then walked around Alldredge Gardens. We left the little ones at home, so we got to just run around and talk. It was so nice. I never think about going to Alldredge Gardens but there were so many people having picnics and just hanging out. I want to go back soon. Maybe by then I can learn a little more about my fancy camera and get some good pictures of the girls.

We stopped for a few photos and CC actually looked at the camera!!!

Poor Hudson...... CC just kept telling him what to do. We caught her in the act. His face is saying "PLEASE help! This is one bossy chic!"

After our lunch/play date, we took naps and headed over to the Scroggins for dinner and to celebrate Mr. Bryan's birthday. I forgot my camera, but we had a really fun time and had a REALLY good red velvet cake! We didn't get home until 11:00 and the girls slept until 9:00 Sunday, when we had to wake them up for church!!!!!!!

dinner, a conversation, and a funny hubby

Now we've got two girls that like to cook!!!

But beware....we have to try everything we add to the meal!!

Tonight, Emory was in a super grumpy mood and usually is around 5:45 almost every night (Bryan refers to her as "Angry Emory" when this happens:):):). So, I was sitting on the kitchen floor trying to make Emory happy.
Me: Emory, do you want an ishy (her blanket)?
E: NOOOOOOO
Me: Do you want your passy?
E: Noooooooo
Me: Do you want a hug?
E: Nooooooo
(this went on for a little while longer....NOTHING was making her happy)
BRYAN: Do you want a sovereign nation?
EMory looked up at him, quit crying, shook her head yes, and said "a-huh"

Well, now we know how to solve our "Angry Emory"!!!!!!!!
Where does my hubby come up with his quick-witted comments! Who knows?! But it keeps us laughing:)

And Bryan is probably going to kill me for this because I haven't even told him. But, oh well, Emory will love hearing it later in life!
Every night at bed time, our routine is read book, rock, and say our prayers. Right now, with Emory we are just singing Jesus Loves Me as our prayer. So for the past few times Bryan has been putting Emory to bed I have been in the hall or our room when he is singing. I laugh my you-know-what off every time I hear it. He sounds like he is singing in the opera and really gets into it! I really wish I could record it b/c it is priceless!!!! It makes me laugh even thinking about it. What a good daddy! Maybe he'll sing it for me so I can put it on here....yea right!!!

and just because....

how grown up and pretty does she look!

Tiki the Monkey came to visit AGAIN!!!

Tiki the monkey, from CC's class, came to spend the weekend with us! To say that Christian was excited is an understatement. It definitely made her weekend...especially since we had a few things going on!

Saturday morning, we had our dance pictures. So Tiki got to tag along and visit with some other friends from CC's class.

(on another note....check out these costumes.......I wasn't sure if Bryan was going to let her out of the house!)

The pink makes it a little better! They are doing a cat-themed dance.

After the photo shoot, we had a costume change and headed to the ice-skating rink for a birthday party. Christian loved it and did really well ice skating.

Lydia and CC at the ice skating party!

Then Gran came up to spend the day with the girls since their school was closed and I had to work due to the ice storm of 2011. THANK YOUI GRAN!!! We love you. Christian's 'favorite part of the day' was being with you.

Tiki even brings games and books with him. So, CC dressed him up in the Valentine's Day skirt Gran and Pawpaw got her to do her 'work'.

We spent all afternoon outside playing with Tiki. This weather is fantastic- I'm going to have to remember that it's only February and will probably snow again before it will stay this warm.

Emory loved being outside and being chased by the cat that won't leave our backyard. She kept saying "NO ma'am" and would run to get her juice so the cat wouldn't take it!

here she is in action telling the cat 'no ma'am.' She is hilarious.

We turned the music on and danced like crazy.

What a perfect weekend, and it made it even better to have Tiki the monkey with us!

Now for a few conversations with CC:
1. (at dinner tonight while praying, Emory was not wanting to hold hands and kept screaming)
CC: Emory, you need to stop and be respectful to God.
2. Bryan wore a new tie my mom got for him. It was pink and CC LOVED it.
CC: Dad, you look really nice in your new tie.
B: Thank you.
CC: Did anyone notice it at work and tell you that it looked cute?!

Valentine's 2011

For Valentine's Day we kept it simple- just added a cute table cloth to make it look a little fancier!

Then Sunday night around 9:00 pm I remembered that I had cut fabric to make dresses for the girls to wear on Valentine's day. So, I stressed out and didn't go to bed until midnight sewing them....what is wrong with me?!

Daddy made heart shaped pancakes......with a cookie cutter and microwavable pancakes!

and they loved them::):):)

they loved the little surprises when they woke up on Monday.

Then CC and Emory had their parties at school. CC has the cutest class in the world! Emory does too but no pictures of it.....all the mommies have found that it is easier to stay clear of their room unless they are coming home with us. The little ones don't understand the idea of a 'quick' party!

CC LOVES a good party....she actually ate all of her food!

Bryan got me a sweet wifey card as well as this one

it made me laugh hysterically! As a special ed. teacher, I often don't get gifts....no big deal to me. But the reason for this card made me laugh. One of my little friends at school, who I am with just about ALL day told me at Christmas "Mom say No gift Congleton. You no teacher" (he also tells me his brother calls me 'stupid idiot' but that's another story!). He was really upset that his mom wouldn't get me a present, but I completely understood what his mom was saying and really doesn't understand who I am.
So, on Monday, I asked him if he brought Valentine's Day cards for his class (I brought extra ones incase anyone forgot)...he looked at me and said " Uh...mom say no Congleton"....so good thing Bryan bought me this card:):)

another snow day

Last Wednesday night it snowed 2-3 inches at our house. The girls were already asleep, so they didn't get a chance to play in it. Honestly, I'm tired of the snow and READY FOR SPRING.

we woke the girls up a little early and went outside to play for a few minutes since it was going to melt by the afternoon. We were really excited to wake them up and let them go outside to play. For some reason I forgot that CC is NOT a morning person so we had a bit of a meltdown before making it outside. But then we were fine once we got outside. She did a snow angel and was ready to go in! It was early and really cold.

Emory wanted to do a snow angel too but then realized it meant she was going to have to lay down in the snow.....no thanks! She did want to slide down the slide (look at her shoes...covered in snow and Bryan in his shorts!)

Emory was shaking she was so cold and CC was crying b/c she wanted to go in and Emory didn't. So........ we played for 2 minutes in the freezing cold snow. Next time, we might just look at the snow from the window!!! Even the girls are tired of all this cold weather and snow.

BFFs and birthday parties

My BFF, Fran, came in town last night and a group of girls got together for dinner. We had such a fun time!

First thing this morning, CC put on her princess dress in preparation for her BFF, Sophia's, birthday party. Snow White was coming to the party so all the girls got to dress up! The party was at 1:00, and we were dressed and ready at 7:30!
Before the party, Fran and I went to my friend, Mary Michael's clothing show! CUUUTTTTTEEEE stuff! check it out www.marymichaelclothing.com. you'll love it.

We pulled up at the same time as Cinderella.... I mean Ava. They were SO excited!

Do you think Sophia was excited?!

I'm not sure if Ava is having fun either? what do you think?!

Gorgeous princesses

While we were gone, Bryan took Emory to the park down the street. She loved every second of it.

It's been a fun Friday and Saturday. I wish Fran lived here and spring would hurry up! Then it would be even better.

I'm a big kid now!!!

For as long as we can remember Christian has been scared of showers. Whenever we would try to get her to take a shower with us, she would cry hysterically. I really was beginning to think that the girl was going to be taking baths everyday for the rest of her life! Well, tonight she decided she wanted to play in the shower (I am actually sitting on top of the toilet typing this while she has been showering for 25 minutes!!!).
Every now and then she will say (in a sing-songy voice)...... "I'm taking a SHOOOOOWWWWER!!! and I'm not even crying" "This if funner than I thought!" "I LOVE this"
She is so proud of herself! This is a big day for her....2-3-2011....her first shower ever. I bet she remembers it for the rest of her life...if not for the fact that she finally got the courage to do it, then because her entire body will be one big prune:):):)
You're growin' up girl....right before our eyes! And we are proud of you (even if it's just a shower!). (why does typing this make me want to cry?!!!! silly)
