It's EMORY'S day!!!

For Emory's actual birthday, we had a laid back day of going to the park, singing "Happy Birthday" every chance we got, and blew out birthday candles with every meal:):)

We went to Railroad Park this morning and had a blast!

First candle of the day with breakfast!

2nd candle with lunch

"I'M TWO!!"

"MY SISTER'S TWO!!"

The proud parents of a two year old and (almost) five year old! When did we grow up?! CC took this picture- not bad, huh!

And this is a first for us all....probably you too!

We headed to Target tonight and on a whim decided to buy a potty for Emory. She was so excited and told anyone who walked by us, "My potty". When we got home, we were getting ready to blow out her candles on her cake. Well, at that exact moment, she wanted to sit on her potty AND blow out her candles. It was way past her normal bedtime and she was becoming a 'birthday diva' (if ya know what I mean!!). So, we had to let her sit on the potty while we sang and she blew out the candles. !!!!

This two year old knows exactly what she wants and will not settle for anything less!!!

Happy Birthday Emory! We all had a fun day celebrating:):):)

2 years

Today is my little baby Emory's 2nd birthday. I can't believe that we have gone from this:

(can you believe that this little cutie was only born probably 12 hours before this picture! I guess weighing 9 lbs. 13 oz will do that do ya! How can someone not fall instantly in love with this beauty?!)

(I was looking through baby pictures of Emory this morning with Emory and Christian. I was telling them that this was the first time that Christian held baby Emory, and Emory hopped in Christian's lap so they could reenact what happened 2 years ago....silly girls!)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SWEET EMORY!

We love you so much (as Christian says, "all the way to space and back!).

Just like I pray every night---- I hope you stay as spunky as you are right now. You bring so many laughs and entertainment to us daily. You are absolutely perfect. I hope you enjoy your day!

I know where he gets it:):)

We've had some CRAZY weather here today! This morning the tornado sirens went off at 5:15 AM, then the power went out around 5:45 (so getting ready this morning was not fun!). On the way to work, I saw about 6-7 HUGE trees uprooted. We got out of school early. Bryan came over not long after in a tizzy! He was all geared up for the storms!!

He parked our cars at the end of the street, in case we need to exit quickly!

He got all the flashlights, candles, radios, and blowup beds ready in the hallway.

He cleaned out his closet and we did a tornado drill- yelling 'GET IN THE CLOSET", and we all piled into the closet. The girls absolutely loved it. We looked like fools--- but better safe than sorry, huh?!

We put the chair in the hall for the girls to get under if needed.

shoes were strategically placed in case we needed to exit quickly to the cars parked at the end of the driveway!

Then a F4/F5 tornado hit Tuscaloosa- about a mile wide. I've never seen anything like it. THen another, a mile wide, hit downtown B'ham. SCARY! About that time, Bryan ran into the kitchen and saw our tree fall! So glad it fell the way it did and not on our house.

But we did have roof damage to the playhouse:(....better this roof then the new one we just had put on our house a month ago!

101 tornados, 375,000 power outages, and 25 confirmed deaths in already. Pray for Alabama and all who have been affected. hope it's over soon.

To the dentist we go

The girls had dentist appointments today (2nd one for Emory). Christian did GREAT....jumped right up on the table and did everything she was asked so she could get a prize once it was over. She got another 'perfect teeth' report and the bruised tooth she got from jumping (and falling) on her bed is not a problem and continues to lighten (no one can notice but me.....right?!)

Emory watched carefully and listened to the lady explain everything they were doing to sissy.

Then it was Emory's turn. She smiled and happily showed her teeth

Then showed her even more of her teeth........

THen.....we ended up on the floor!!!! I'm guessing this is why they put us in the private back room behind closed doors!!!

Then Dr. Chambliss came in, and Emory screamed at top of her lungs and covered her mouth, basically saying 'the HELL if you are going to look in my mouth!"

After holding her down while he checked her out, she got a good report on her perfectly spaced (a little too spaced if anyone is asking me!). He also said the skin in-between her two front teeth with grow with her mouth as she gets older and she will not have a 'perma-gap'. I made him tell me about 10 times that he promises that she will not live life with skin continuously growing between her teeth causing her turmoil in her teen years.

Somehow we survived and got 4 plastic necklaces that made everything better! Taking kiddos to the dentist is NOT that fun.....glad it's over:)

Easter 2011

(First a little story....Thursday night CC and I were reading the story of Easter and at the bottom of her bible it has little questions to ask. This one was 'what would you say to Jesus if he were to walk into the room right now?'. Christian said, " I would tell him I want a baby brother. Right now" I just giggled and told her her daddy would say the same thing!!--hehehe
PS- I typed this out Sunday night, but didn't post it.....it's now Monday afternoon------I just picked the girls up from school and CC's afternoon teacher came up to me saying Christian told everyone she is getting a baby brother and wanted to know if it's true!!!!!!!! I almost peed my pants!)

We hit the ground running this morning with a peek at what the Easter Bunny brought us. Christian forgot the Easter Bunny even came (and to be honest the Easter bunny almost forgot as well.....all the partying from the night before had us worn out!), so she was extra excited.

Then we put on our Easter best and headed to church....Emory even let me curl her already curly hair into little ringlets:):)

After church, we went to Aunt Paige and Uncle Robert's house where we we posed for many many pictures!

Which most ended up like this. I have SO many pictures where CC is sitting smiling a fake smile and Emory walking towards me laughing.

Then we had an Easter Egg hunt!

and Christian got the orange golden egg with $10 inside!

then when we were all so tired we couldn't see straight, we went home! On the car ride home, CC asked to go to bed when we got home, and Bryan was so tired, he went to bed at 8:00!!

HOPPY EASTER!
