photo shoot

This past Saturday, we headed to Botanical Gardens to take some 2 year and 5 year pictures of the girls! Since we now have a nice camera, we decided to do them ourselves. I am really happy how they turned out! and the girls actually cooperated (for the most part- candy, bubbles, and the Papaw fan helped!!:):)

Mother's Day

I took the day off on Friday to attend the Mother's Day Tea at Christian's school. All the kids in her class were so excited to have their mommies there and perform the songs and poems they learned.

Then I had all these plans to take CC with me to eat lunch with Daddy and go to the toy store to buy her the new Barbie Fairy Secret doll she has been dying to have. I was really excited to spend the day with my little girl. As we were walking out, she told me "Mama, I really don't want to go with you. I just want to stay with my friends."!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So, I'm already not cool enough! Oh well, I sucked it up and went home....glad she likes school so much (and it was actually nice to sit down for a while in the quiet!)

Then they served us tea, grapes, and cheese. It was so cute and thoughtful. I loved every second of it.

CC's class and their mommies

Christian's mother's day gifts and thoughts on me:

My mom favorite color: "pink"

favorite food: "muffins" (?)

My mom loves to take me to: "to the zoo" (yes- but not on a hot sweaty day!)

My mom gets angry when: "I hit and my baby pulls my hair" (yep)

My mom is happiest when: " I hug her" (yep!)

My mom is : "84" years old (hehehe)

When my mom wants to have fun she: "hugs me and kisses me" (yep)

I love my mom because: " she makes me laugh" (:):):):)

Emory's mother's day presents! The flower pot is their finger print made into lady bugs. Can you imagine doing that with 10 two year old! GREAT TEACHERS!

Then I finally got to play around with my new embroidery machine and now I am officially obsessed! How cute is this! and it only took 20 minutes! (I am going to do a post later on the many shirts I messed up before I finally figured it out!)

I also made her a skirt to match her new appliqued shirt! She loved it!

Hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's day!

Best Looking Class of '96

Here is the cake I made Bryan (I know---it looks pathetic, but he is making me put it on here!! and it taste as bad as it looks! So bad, the girls wouldn't even eat it).

Well today, we are celebrating Bryan's 33rd birthday! Doesn't that sound so old! Not only is this 33 year old the Class of '96 Best Looking (he is GOING TO KILL ME!), but he is nice, caring, and fun. He is absolutely perfect and I simply love him.

(a little back story to the best looking class of '96....whenever I get the slightest big tipsy, I always tell people that. It used to drive him CRAZY, but now he just laughs and is kinda proud of it! No- I have not been drinking while I am typing this:):):)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRYAN! We love you.

It's EMORY'S day!!!

For Emory's actual birthday, we had a laid back day of going to the park, singing "Happy Birthday" every chance we got, and blew out birthday candles with every meal:):)

We went to Railroad Park this morning and had a blast!

First candle of the day with breakfast!

2nd candle with lunch

"I'M TWO!!"

"MY SISTER'S TWO!!"

The proud parents of a two year old and (almost) five year old! When did we grow up?! CC took this picture- not bad, huh!

And this is a first for us all....probably you too!

We headed to Target tonight and on a whim decided to buy a potty for Emory. She was so excited and told anyone who walked by us, "My potty". When we got home, we were getting ready to blow out her candles on her cake. Well, at that exact moment, she wanted to sit on her potty AND blow out her candles. It was way past her normal bedtime and she was becoming a 'birthday diva' (if ya know what I mean!!). So, we had to let her sit on the potty while we sang and she blew out the candles. !!!!

This two year old knows exactly what she wants and will not settle for anything less!!!

Happy Birthday Emory! We all had a fun day celebrating:):):)

2 years

Today is my little baby Emory's 2nd birthday. I can't believe that we have gone from this:

(can you believe that this little cutie was only born probably 12 hours before this picture! I guess weighing 9 lbs. 13 oz will do that do ya! How can someone not fall instantly in love with this beauty?!)

(I was looking through baby pictures of Emory this morning with Emory and Christian. I was telling them that this was the first time that Christian held baby Emory, and Emory hopped in Christian's lap so they could reenact what happened 2 years ago....silly girls!)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SWEET EMORY!

We love you so much (as Christian says, "all the way to space and back!).

Just like I pray every night---- I hope you stay as spunky as you are right now. You bring so many laughs and entertainment to us daily. You are absolutely perfect. I hope you enjoy your day!

I know where he gets it:):)

We've had some CRAZY weather here today! This morning the tornado sirens went off at 5:15 AM, then the power went out around 5:45 (so getting ready this morning was not fun!). On the way to work, I saw about 6-7 HUGE trees uprooted. We got out of school early. Bryan came over not long after in a tizzy! He was all geared up for the storms!!

He parked our cars at the end of the street, in case we need to exit quickly!

He got all the flashlights, candles, radios, and blowup beds ready in the hallway.

He cleaned out his closet and we did a tornado drill- yelling 'GET IN THE CLOSET", and we all piled into the closet. The girls absolutely loved it. We looked like fools--- but better safe than sorry, huh?!

We put the chair in the hall for the girls to get under if needed.

shoes were strategically placed in case we needed to exit quickly to the cars parked at the end of the driveway!

Then a F4/F5 tornado hit Tuscaloosa- about a mile wide. I've never seen anything like it. THen another, a mile wide, hit downtown B'ham. SCARY! About that time, Bryan ran into the kitchen and saw our tree fall! So glad it fell the way it did and not on our house.

But we did have roof damage to the playhouse:(....better this roof then the new one we just had put on our house a month ago!

101 tornados, 375,000 power outages, and 25 confirmed deaths in already. Pray for Alabama and all who have been affected. hope it's over soon.
