Something else to remember

I have a ton to blog about- Getting my pictures ready then there will be a blog post overload
But first, gotta remember this. We are driving in the car talking about the movie Brave. CC just said "never ask a witch to change your feet. You may turn into a bear."
If you haven't seen the movie, a princess asked a witch to change her FATE, so she doesn't have to be the queen. Then her mom turns into a bear.
Christian must have been SO confused the entire movie that all that would happen just by asking someone to change her feet!!!
My sweet Christian- love her to death!

So I don't forget

Today while driving around town in my dad's car (more on that later!) the girls wanted to listen to music on the iPod. I was trying to explain that I didn't know how to work Pawpaw's radio and Emory yelled, "But mama, I just want to jam out!" I almost wet my pants!!! Where does she come up with these things!!

quick stop during a long day!

On the way home Sunday, we decided to stop at Mammoth Cave to break up the trip ( we all needed a little break from Emory asking "are we there yet?"every 2 minutes!!)
I'm really glad we did. We all had a fun time and the girls really enjoyed it.

I did something I always said I would never do!!! We pulled over, had the girls get out of the car and take a picture in front of the sign!

Emory was not really excited at first. "It's dark" ,"there are alligators", "are there bugs?"are a few reasons she gave us. Once we got in, she was okay though. Until one of the rangers told the story about a hunter following a bear and stumbled upon the cave. From then on, she kept thinking she saw the bear and bear skin(?). No matter how many times we explained that was a LONG time ago, she swore there was a bear in there!

We went from 104 degrees outside to 54 degrees in the cave. It felt great! But coming out was miserable- it felt like you couldn't breathe for a few minutes until you got used to the heat again.

They became Junior Rangers- earned a badge and certificate for going in the cave

then the highlight for Christian was going to the Rock Shop. She picked out some really pretty rocks to add to her collection. She honestly could have spent the entire day looking at rocks- even in the 104 heat!

It was  perfect stop to break up the trip. They fell asleep before we were back on the highway and slept for the majority of the way home. Even though it took us about 12 hours to get home, I'm glad we stopped! I kinda wish I were more of an 'outside' girl because it would be fun to tour all the national parks, wouldn't it?!

still can't believe it!

We celebrated CC's actual birthday while in Kentucky for my cousin's wedding. She had such a fun day!

We started off by going to my Aunt Pat's house for a breakfast cupcake and presents. We brought our present up there for her to open! She picked out a sewing machine so she can sew with me!! YAY!!! This sewing machine is actually for ages 6 and up. It actually sews too! I found an easy American Girl pattern- Can't wait to teach her!

EMory got some sun glasses from Gran and Pawpaw!

Justin Beiber movie and perfume from Gran and Pawpaw too!

She got a ring from Gran and Pawpaw and a bracelet from us.

cute pic of Gran and Emory!

After breakfast we went to Covington, Kentucky to the house where my dad and aunt grew up.

Emory and CC wanted to stop on everyone's front steps to take pictures!

Pawpaw and Pat walked up and down remembering all the families who lived in each house and talked about what they did as a kid. Fun to listen to!

We walked to the Mainstrasse Clock tower to hear the chimes.

Emory putting her quiet finger up to pray when we heard an ambulance drive by. CC's kindergarten teacher did that whenever they heard a siren while in school. And the girls continue to do it now....yet another reason why I love Mrs. Morton!

Emory and CC with their 'beer goggles' on! (we went into a german store along the walk. I had to put this on the girls to take a picture!!)

This was Christian's FAVORITE part of her birthday! The wedding party rode in the biggest limo I have ever seen. They let CC ride to the reception in it and it absolutely made her day! She's still talking about it.
Can't you just see the excitement in her face!

Happy Birthday Christian! I still can't believe you are SIX YEARS OLD! We love you so much and couldn't be more proud of what a sweet, kind, caring girl you are!

Emory- you're silly!

While at the wedding, I was trying to get a cute picture with Emory. Bryan would count to three and EVERY SINGLE TIME he got to three, Emory would make a silly face. They were too cute on to share! Silly girl. She thought it was hilarious. And it actually was!!!

Family wedding fun!

Early Friday morning, we hopped in the car for the long car ride to Northern Kentucky for my cousin's wedding! We had the best time ever!!!
The car ride wasn't too bad, but Emory is not the best traveler. She doesn't really watch TV and wanted to talk the ENTIRE time!
As soon as we got there, we took showers and headed to the rehearsal while the girls stayed with a babysitter.
After dinner, we went to the Hofbrauhaus, a german bar, where everywhere stands in their chairs to dance and the beers are HUGE! We had so much fun and stayed out way later than we are used to!
The wedding was so much fun too! The girls did great during the wedding and we partied all night!
What a fun weekend with my family- wish we saw each other more!

 my cousin and godfather, Dave

The happy couple- so cute together!

 CC and cousin Jack

They sang happy birthday to Christian
 and gave her a cupcake!

BUSTED!  Emory sneaking some of the icing!

 my pretty girls!

They had one of this photo areas where you put on silly things and take pictures in front of a backdrop. CC and I loved it, and as you can see, Emory wan't too fond of it!!

A few years ago, we went to Gatlinburg while my family. They were telling us about this new drinking game - being 'iced', where you have to chug a smirnoff ice. Bryan 'iced' Jessie about 3 times and she never saw it coming. So at the wedding, Jessie 'iced' Bryan and he had to get down on one knew and chug the smirnoff ice! It was GREAT!!!!!

Emory wanted to shake her bum-bum with Pawpaw!

Then Bryan surprised Jessie and 'iced' her back!

WHAT A FUN NIGHT and weekend! Congratulations Patrick and Jessie- you are perfect for each other. So happy for you both.
