more of the beach

It finally quit raining while we were at the beach, so we spent all that time in the pool and at the beach! CC has become THE BEST swimmer- taught herself how to do a flip off the side of the pool and in the water! she couldn't wait to tell her gymnastics teacher:)

We went out to eat a few nights, which wasn't as easy with both girls! But they loved Cafe 30-A. Right when we walked in CC said "WHOA, this is a fancy place!" She loved it and acted like such a big girl. Even Miss Em was good!

Emory has become OBSESSED with gum, which did occupy her during dinner (not the best pic of us, but see the gum in her 'smiling' face). No matter how well we tried to hide it, she would find it!

Miss Priss!

We took walks on the beach looking for seashells....even found a dead fish and some crab!

CC showing Emory her dead fish. We even had to take it back with us to show Pawpaw.....ewwww

The ocean was very rough and Emory wasn't a big fan of the beach. Here is how our conversations went when we were on the beach:

after about 30 minutes :

E (very matter of fact): I'm done

Me: you're done?

E: um-hum

Me: With what?

E: This (pointing at the ocean)

I then would try to ignore her to see if she would get used to it (another mother of the year award:):)

E: MOMMA, I'M DONE WITH DA BEACH. Go home NOW

Christian on the other hand would sleep on the beach. She made so many friends and played all day making sandcastles and playing in the water!

Doesn't this look like the perfect place to be?! We had the best time with everyone.

my baby is growing

While we were at the beach (more pics of my little fish coming soon), Bryan took down Emory's crib (first time in 5 1/2 years we haven't had a crib in the house, and I'm sad about it:(. So when we got home,Emory had her first night in a big girl bed!! She even shared a room with CC!!!

She was so excited to sleep in her big girl bed!! She slept through the night, only waking once, and now taking a nap in it! Hopefully she'll keep it up:):):)

She still sleeps like a frog like she did as a baby!! She is growing up too fast!!

My aunt Pat also helped me to make a bed skirt and curtain panels for the new room! Once I finish it all, I'll post pics....it looks great!

Beach trip 2011...a little bit rainy

We headed to the beach Saturday, but not before we celebrated Mason's 9th bday (doesn't that sound so old!!) and my aunt pat, uncle paul, and cousin Di flew in from Kentucky. Bryan had to stay home this week, but I'm sure it's like a mini vacation for him!!! But we sure do miss him.

After a seven hour drive, we finally made it to the beach! Pat and I celebrated our birthday when we got down there ( aren't our glasses fun-)

We spent one day at the beach - Playing in the ocean, looking for shells, and flying kites.

We also laid out!

its rained for the past two days, so we've done a lot of shopping and been out to dinner. Now we just need the rain to go away so we actually LOOK like we have been at the beach!

Here's what we get when we ask Emory to smile!

Here she is again.....

Playing in the water instead of going to Baytowne wharf (too rainy:(:()

Still had fun, but ready for sunshine!

another round of Princess!!!

Guess who has jumped head first into the Princess Phase!!!!! She even had to sleep in her princess dress! Here we go again.....I LOVE IT! (oh and......her teacher told me today to buy pull ups for her b/c she's ready to potty train....Ahhhhhhh!!!)

on another kick

I'm on another sewing kick! This time with matching applique shirts.

I made a seersucker skirt and crab applique shirt for CC!! I wish I could claim Emory's outfit too, but she's just there support!!

I have been making this easy easy easy yo-yo bows. I later found this website that explains how to do them. All I did was add this cover button and sewed/hot glue gunned it to an alligator clip. Aren't they cute! I found them on one website on sale for $8.99 and I made it in less than 5 minutes.

This is by far my favorite outfit I have made. This picture doesn't do it justice! CC looks precious in it!

I made a yo-yo bow to match!!

The same blue seersucker skirt from the first picture with an Auburn applique!

I added a ruffle to the bottom of the peasant top and bought her some adorable jeggings (she calls them her pajama jeans!!) to go with it for football season. I put a megaphone and pompom applique on it with War Eagle written at the bottom (not crazy about the font I used for the War Eagle, but it's still cute!)

The big 3-2

I celebrated my 32nd bday this Sunday! Bryan and the girls did a great job of making it a special one. They decorated with all the usual birthday 'stuff'- which the girls LOVE!

They got me a sunflower bday cake! How cute- Bryan thought it was summery:)

We went to church then came home for a birthday cake lunch. Bryan lined up a babysitter for us to go see Water For Elephants (so I got to spend some of my bday with RPatz too- heeehee!!!)- really good movie. Then we went to dinner at Chuy's! It really was a perfect birthday (Thank you Bryan:)

Christian even told the babysitter I was 23! And Emory talked her into letting them watch a movie in 'mama's bed' until we got home (Emory's new thing is saying 'one more minute' when we say it's time for bed). The babysitter called her a rebel....her cuteness sure does get her whatever she wants.....we might be in trouble later:):)

I got some great gifts, including this really special one that Christian felt I so desperately needed!

She was so excited about me opening it! Isn't that funny?! ANDDD....she is REALLY good at keeping a secret. I kept asking her what she got me and she would just giggle and say "a pig" or "an apple". She wouldn't budge.....believe me, I tried!!

This is a BEFORE pic of our "spices all over the cabinet"

And here is the AFTER picture with my new Swivel Store organizer. (Bryan was going to order the pajama jeans b/c Christian really wants me to have them for some reason, but it would have cost $60 with shipping!!!!)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!

Conversations with CC (and Daddy)

Bryan was putting Christian to bed, and she just wanted to talk instead of reading a book. So he started asking her silly questions( and this is all true!!)

Bryan: where do you see yourself in five years?
CC: umm, in the mirror!!

Bryan: if you were alone on an island, what's the one thing you would want to take with you?
CC: my family

Bryan: if you were in a boat with us and you had to throw someone out, who would it be?
CC: Emory
Bryan: why Emory?
CC:: because she can't dive
