Forgot....FairyTale Ball!

Rapunzel!! We had a tad bit of drama due to the "short pieces in the front that do not look like Tangled's hair"....Mimi- you were right! She did figure out that it wasn't the 'REAL' tangled hair! She finally got over it and was happy and couldn't wait for her friends to see her

Emory did not want to be left out, so she ran into the playground to get her Dora mask...kinda creepy, huh!.

The entire 4k was included in the Ball. It was so cute to see all the kiddos dressed up! ( CC's wig kept falling back and eventually came off for good during the party)

The teachers really did go all out for the fairytale ball...food, drinks, king & queen chairs, dancing, singing! It doesn't get any better than that!

fun spring break...and a little obsessive

We've been having a great, laid back spring break. We've had a birthday party, friends over for dinner, zoo trip, and play date with friends so far. It's been so nice to take it easy and do whatever we want! I think we all needed a little break from the norm. Emory is back to being her sweet, go-with-the-flow personality and Christian has been sleeping in and having a ball being at home.
We might be making a quick trip to the doctor tomorrow...a few days ago CC said her ear hurt. THen today at dinner, she told me she has an ear infection b/c a little boy in her class shoved a pencil in her ear really hard and the lead got stuck and made it all the way to her brain. She can even feel it in her forehead. So, we might go check out to see if she has an ear infection lead in her brain/forehead.

In between our outings, I have been sewing up a storm! I can't stop. Bryan has been laughing at me b/c once I get something in my head, I won't stop until I do it. I picked up my appliquéd shirts from Chasing Charlie Designsand went straight home to make skirts and ruffle bloomers to match! Don't they look adorable- both the girls and the clothes!

What a mess!

I'm also making the girls a little outfit to wear on St. Patrick's Day! It's not really St. Patty's Day themed...just has a little green in it and it gave me an excuse to make something else! I've finished CC's dress and working on Emory's tomorrow. The last thing they need are more clothes, but it's fun!

SEW cute Elly Skirt!

I just dropped off some shirts to have appliquéd and monogrammed with Chasing Charlie Designs to match this skirt. Now I have to decide if I am going to make little Emory a matching skirt or short bloomers. I'm leaning towards the bloomers so she can show off her chubby legs while she's got 'em!!!

(for the record-----CC did not wear her shirt tucked in. We were in a hurry to take the picture, and she is laughing b/c her skirt was 'too high" and wondering 'why we alway have to stand right here to take a picture!) Doesn't she look like a big girl!

I decided to bring out my sewing machine and make some dresses, bloomers, and skirts for the girls. I have found the EASIEST skirt pattern EVER and it's super cute! It's perfect b/c CC still refuses to wear pants or shorts.
It's so easy that the past two nights, I have made a skirt during American Idol (and driven Bryan crazy with the sewing machine noise:):). Aren't they precious! If you can sew a straight line, go get the Bonnie Blue Elly's skirt pattern.

PS....tomorrow is the FairyTale Ball at her school and CC is going in her full Rapunzel costume she got for Christmas! Pictures to come! If you can only imagine, this has been an exciting fun week for her at school! I love that they have a full week devoted to fairytales! I wish we could do that!

PPS.... While putting Christian to bed tonight, CC was thanking God for every little thing ( lamp, bed, sheets, shoes, etc). Bryan explained that you can thank God for your things but mostly talk to God about what you feel in your heart. So bryan said a prayer. Afterwards, he looked over and she was rubbing her eyes. He asked if she were tired. Her response was "no, I just have tears in my eyes because your prayer to God was so sweet" WOW!!!

ballerina princess

CC had a birthday party to go to this weekend at the McWane Center and was so excited to wear her birthday party dress. She even wore a big bow "as long as it is on the back of her head and it doesn't look big from the front". While she was gone, Emory and I cleaned out Christian's closet and got all of our winter clothes out to get ready for spring! In doing this, I realized that with all of Christian's hand-me-downs, Emory will have one outfit for each day of spring and summer!
I also invested in some space saver bags which are the best invention around! I fit all of the girls fall/winter clothes into two bags and my sweaters into one! and the best thing- they will all fit under our bed!

Then, we hung up Christian's Christmas present from Mimi and Grandaddy! IS THIS NOT THE CUTEST THING YOU HAVE EVER SEEN~!!!!!!! Thank you Mimi and Grandaddy. I am in love with it, and so is Christian! After putting it up, she told us that she didn't need her bed rail anymore. I'm not sure if I can't take her growing up so fast, but it does make her bed look better. She went down for a nap a little while after we put it up. AS I was walking out, I heard her whisper to herself....."I feel like a princess!"

I also did a little rearranging in her room. We got rid of the play kitchen b/c neither one of them play with it, and Emory has a little house with a kitchen in her room. So, now Christian's room is less cluttered and looks super cute. She has FINALLY started playing with her doll house and princess castle all weekend long. It's been in her room forever, but I guess there is more room to actually play. I (well Bryan!) also hung up a full length mirror on the wall. Surprisingly, the girls have LOVED it! I think her room is a perfect little girls room and it's, by far, the best looking room in the house! Maybe one day, we'll do something to our bedroom!!:):):)
The other bed will be Emory's when she grows out of her crib (no time soon I hope. I'm all for her staying in a crib for as long as possible!).

One funny story---on the way to church this morning, CC was singing into the microphone that echoes everything you say, Emory was talking very very loudly, the radio was on, and Bryan and I were trying to talk over all the noise. So, on the verge of going crazy, I said we all had to be quiet and get our minds ready to learn about God. After a few seconds, Emory started talking. Christian said "Emory, shhhhh, think about Jesus. Just think about Jesus!"
Christian also got upset on the way to church b/c she realized she had on a skirt instead of a dress and 'you always have to wear a dress to church":):)

explanation

Well, I just knew there had to be some underlining issue to why my sweet little Emory was being such a little Booger!
I got a call today at work around 2:00 from her school. They said she had been inconsolable since before nap time (which is 11:30) and didn't nap at all. So, I headed that way to pick her up. I made a doctor's appointment. When they asked why we were coming in, I wanted to tell them my sweet baby is being mean. But I said it was her ears:):) And guess what--- I was right. Emory has her first ever ear infection. So, I really hoping that that is what contributing to this wild behavior! We are now on antibiotics, which we got free at Publix!!!!! Let's hope for better days from now on:):):):)

Crazy socks and crazy day

This week CC's school is celebrating Dr. Seuss' birthday. Today was silly sock day for CC! How cute does she look! She also has dance on WEdnesday, so she has to dress herself after it's over. When I picked her up she had her shoes on the wrong feet and her shirt on backwards....guess she wanted to go all out to celebrate Dr. Seuss!
She also has gymnastics on WEdnesday....whew! BUSY day for our Chrsitian! Here is a what she said on the way home....
(CC talking non-stop....I called Bryan to see if he wanted Chick-Fil-A). When I hung up, she said "Um......as I was saying"
Where did she get that?!

This girl had a CRAZY few days. Yesterday I picked her up from school, she was a little grumpy, and I didn't think much of it. This morning when Bryan dropped her off, her teacher told him that "Emory was not herself". When he asked why, she said she kept pulling friend's hair and BIT her BFF!!!! Bryan was so embarrassed and didn't know what to say!!! We never had to deal with this with our 'rule-follower' Christian!
Then today when I picked her up, her afternoon teacher told me that she heard about the biting (even more embarrassing!), but that they are best friends and always play together, so it's bound to happen...Whatever.....we cannot have a biter
To make it even worse, she was telling Bryan about it at dinner. Here is how the conversation went:
Bryan: Did you go to the no-no chair
Emory: (nodded and smiled) um-huh
Bryan: did you bite?
Emory: I bite.
Bryan: Who did you bite?
Emory: (said her friend's name, who shall remain nameless:):)
Bryan: that is a no-no.
Emory: NO BITE. NO NO. BE NICE (all while pointing and shaking her finger)
We taught her how to be sweet (this isn't the first time we've taught her how to be nice) and practiced. So now every time we say "How do you be nice to your friends, she rubs her cheek or arm. I REALLY REALLY REALLY hope this sinks in to our little fire cracker. She's a mess, but at least she is cute! And she might cause her sister to have a heart attack with all her rule breaking! Poor girl will never get a way with anything as a teenager!! At least we have that going for us.
To top it off, every time she eats ranch dressing (which as been the past few nights with some form of chicken:):), her face breaks out in a red rash wherever the ranch touched her....what is that about?!
THEN...she did not want to take a bath and I mean WOULD NOT even get in the water. She has this weird thing about things getting her toes. Anything that makes a strange noise (vacuum, certain toys, ironing board opening), she goes running while screaming "toes"! There was a mermaid toy in the bathtub that swam around and she kept screaming "TOES" while climbing up me! Even after moving the silly mermaid toy, she kept curling up in a ball whenever we tried to put her in.
I guess everyone has off days, huh?! So, we will re-visit the bath tomorrow morning, which should make for an eventful work/school day for us all!
