our week

Monday was Emory's ACTUAL birthday! We headed to Build-A-Bear to get a birthday bear! It was a first for all of us and it was the cutest place ever! The girls loved it and apparently, so did I, because I ended up spending $90 on 2 bears!! Then we took our new, expensive bears on a merry-go-round ride. Emory loved it but hated it when I let go of her! She named her bear Baby Allie and the horse she rode Diamond Diamond!
It was a perfect little trip to the mall until the end...... the girls had their bears and I was holding the two huge boxes they come in, along with bags of food from the food court to take home to eat with Daddy. While talking about riding the elevator before we went home (b/c I refused to ride the escalator since I was already feeling a little bit like "The Griswalds go to the mall"!!!), Emory's body acted before her head and she threw her Happy Meal HIGH up into the air, causing it to rain french fries. We caused a tad bit of a scene- both me and Emory!!! So, we nixed the elevator ride and headed home to celebrate and move on!

Tuesday, Christian had her music program at school. All the kiddos were so cute and the best part was watching her face when she realized her daddy was there. From that moment on, she couldn't stop smiling and really stepped up her musical performance!!

Thursday, we had registration and kindergarten kick off at CC's new school. We both were really excited but both got nervous right when we got there! She said she is really excited but doesn't want to leave Mrs. Morton and we will 'miss her everyday'. I agree, but told her I've already tried to get Mrs. Morton to move to her new school but she can't!! While the parents had a meeting, the kids were pulled into groups to go into a classroom to do a little screening and see what the rooms are like. I am already getting really really sad about not being with her next year, but her school is so nice I know she will love it. I'm excited for her:)

Saturday, we headed to We Love Homewood day. It was really fun, but REALLY hot. We didn't last too long and everyone was ready to leave! Luckily, we only bought a few tickets. After they were gone, we headed out. The girls rode the swings, pirate ship, and crazy swings. Too bad it was so hot or we would have stayed all day. That night we went to the Meacham's to watch the Derby and grill out. It was so fun and the kids played so well. Emory and Elise paired up and actually played without bothering/following the big girls- fun to watch! We wrapped up the night with trying to find the man in the SUPER moon and making s'mores around a fire in this summer like weather!

Sunday, CC had her dance recital! They piled everything into one day- we dropped her off at 1:45 for dress rehearsal and pictures and came back at 4:00 for the recital. The theme was Enchanted Forest. The entire recital is based around one theme so it's more like a play than just 50 two minute routines. All the costumes were different fairies. CC was an earth fairy and danced to Enya music- very pretty music and CC was GREAT! Aren't their costumes beautiful?!

Things Emory says

-Emory and Bryan were going round and round about her putting a pull-up on for bed tonight.  She did not want to wear one and wasn't budging about putting one on. And Bryan wasn't budging about her NOT putting one on. Then she said in the sweetest, saddest voice, "Daddy, I just want to be a big girl".

-The maid came today. When time to go to bed, Emory looked at her bed in shock and said, "WHY. IS. MY. BED. MADE!!" As if it way the first time she had ever seen it......horrible, absolutely horrible!

Emory Birthday weekend (Part 5)

Five post of Emory's birthday, and she hasn't even turned 3 yet!!!

The boys spent the night and headed home early for church. We got dressed and ready to celebrate more with Gran and Pawpaw who made a quick trip up to see Emory.

CC and I went last Friday to pick out Emory's bday presents. We bought her something super exciting and had to hide it for over a week! It was really hard (for CC) to not spill the beans!

We got her FROGS!!!! Two teeny tiny frogs that live in this glass cube with a top (or they would not be able to come home with us!!) Emory was so excited and a little confused. After she realized they were real and her pets, she loved it! She named them Baby Allie and Baby Shane. CC thought for sure one of them would have been Diamond Diamond, but I think she's moved on from that name- thank goodness! Not sure where Baby Shane came from, but they are her frogs, so she got to choose the names:):)

This sweet sister had a little bit of a hard time with all these presents and attention going to her little sis, but I think she handled it well. I know it has to be hard, but we tried to keep reminded her that her "Justin Beiber' birthday is only 2 months away. And then SHE will be getting all the presents, and possibly two frogs that she can name:):)

Gran and Pawpaw got Emory this cool bean bag chair. E was nice enough to share with sissy!

She kept saying "I just love this thing"!!

We had a birthday breakfast and sang happy birthday! Then Gran and Pawpaw headed back home.
After naps, Mimi and Grandaddy came over to help us do some house projects. THey were so nice and stayed until dark helping us! Thanks so much!

After a fun filled weekend, we went out with a bang.... in true 'terrible twos' fashion, she peed in our bed (....on my side)!!!

I'm hoping she got it all out of her system and three is going to be a breeze! Somehow, I doubt it!
She did call me into her room (trying to put off going to bed) saying "MOOOOOM, I need to tell you something. It's special." When I went in, she said, "Mom, I need to tell you something special. I LOVE YOU"- completely made up for peeing in my damn bed!! little stinker

Emory birthday weekend (Part 4)

After her birthday party, we went home to open a few birthday presents. Can you tell someone was excited!!

Christian took extra time to pick out the perfect gift for Emory. She got her a Whoopi Cushion ('poot-poot thing' as E says) and a cute magnetic letter writing board. CC was so excited for her to open it:)
After a few presents, then a nap, we headed back to Wee Flip for another birthday party for our great friend, Elise.

When we got home,  the cousins, Mimi, and Grandaddy came over to play and celebrate more. Here I am holding baby Whiting, thinking- 'hmmmm, I think I want another baby!!" Do you see both of our bottles?!

Then we opened more presents. These are the fuzzy pink mustaches we got her! They were a hit!

Whiting even got in on the fun!

Nothing more fun than the conga line with pink mustaches. These cousins have so much fun together!

Then Miss 'Cool Girl' and Mr. 'I wore my mustache ALL night' kept opening presents.

Mimi and Grandaddy got Emory the cutest miniature bike! It really is the smallest, cutest thing ever! She had Grandaddy take it out of the box to show her every little piece and tried her hardest to get him to put it together! If it weren't so late, I think she almost had him-  she's pretty good at talking ya into things!

Whiting sat with Mimi and watched her brothers and cousins run around like wild ones! Aren't they pretty?!

Emory's birthday weekend (Part 3)

More pictures from the birthday party....the birthday girls and their friends.......

Emory's birthday weekend (Part 2)

We had Emory's birthday party on Saturday with her BFF, Georgia!
All pictures of the birthday girls......

It was, by far, the easiest and best party EVER! They handled EVERYTHING- cupcakes, plates, napkins, decorations, party favors - everything! All we did was show up 15 minutes before the party and played with our kiddos.

It was an absolutely perfect party and the girls had the time of their lives!
