NO FIRST DAY JITTERS HERE!!!

Everyone was so excited about today and really had no time to be nervous with all we needed to do this morning! But we managed to get out the door on time!

quite a long story, but Christian is now in first grade and in Mrs. Timberlake's class. All of us feel so much better about where CC is and are looking forward to a great school year (I'll dedicate an entire post to what happened soon. But we can now say Jeezo Flippo without worrying:):)

I saw this on Pinterest (OF COURSE!!) and had to do it. It was really very easy. I made a silver flag that says 'last' that I can change to have a picture of the first and last day of school! I took it to my school today and used it with my cute 4 year olds! I can see them now, rolling their eyes on the first day of high school when I make them hold this up- hehehe!

I mean- does it GET any cuter than this!?

After I cropped my big bum out of the picture, this one turned cute too!

It was so fun seeing Emory throughout the day and she loved it. she would just wave and wave non stop! We eat lunch at the same time, but I was pretty wrapped up in getting all my little ones situated. I would glance over and she was still waving!
This is one of her teachers, Mrs. Leslie! They love her and she loves them!

CC jumped out of the car this morning without hesitation and ran to the car this afternoon with a huge smile on her face. I am so happy!

179 more to go!

The night before!!!

(Thank goodness for this blog, so I can remember what I did to celebrate the first day of school- ha!!!)

After church, we took it easy to get ready for the first day.
Daddy and CC played softball in the backyard, which Bryan says she is REALLY good. So good, he signed her up for softball and the be the assistant coach! While they did that, Emory and I made cookies for the first day snacks.

Cookie cutter from the Kissing Hand book!

We put a little 'kiss' in the middle! How cute are these fat fingered hands:)

We decorated the kitchen to get them excited!

Made little gifts for their teachers (cups with candy inside). Check out how well Emory wrote her name! She did it all by own (her new saying). I just said the letter and she wrote it!
Proud of my little 3ker!

The balloons helped wake them up, just like it did last year!

MY GIRLS ARE GROWING UP TOO FAST!!!

Jeezo Flippo

All there of us girls had Meet the teacher yesterday! CC was a nervous wreck and went through every scenario that could possibly go wrong for about an hour later (what if they say I can't go to that school after you already drove off, what if I go in the wrong class, what if no one will help me get to the class, what if I get so scared when I get to her door that I scream and run away, etc). We let her play out any possible thing that could happen and I think she finally realized she was going to be nervous no matter what!
Anyway, bryan took her bc I was meeting my kiddos at the same time.

She was still shy but really liked it!! And look at her teacher's name!!!:)

Her class is the owls! And right across the hall are the hippos!!!! Now, don't you think that teacher across the hall should have changed rooms with Mrs. Flippo! I would have in a heartbeat!!! Mrs. Flippo's Hippos sound so much more fun than Mrs. Flippo's Owls!!!

Emory also had meet the teacher! She told us "I gonna be shy" and that's it!!! Hopefully later in life my girls can even each other out! CC will hopefully keep Emory out of trouble and Emory will help CC calm down:):)
Emory's teacher's name is Mrs. Nancy which we call her Fancy Nancy! Emory loved it too and woke up this morning wanting to go to her classroom!!! I will take pictures if her teachers and room so you can see how cute it is!

And my kids in my class are as cute as can be, as well as their parents! It was my first ever Meet The Teacher since I have never had my own classroom! It went very well and I am actually excited about starting school!!

We have a lot to do the rest of the week- school haircuts, school shoes, school grocery shopping, and school clothes ironing!!!

new adventures

All three of the Congleton girls are starting a new adventure on August 20th! CC will start her new school by our house (we go tomorrow to find out her teacher- eek!!) And Emory and I will be both going to a new school/job!!!! I will now be teaching 4k at a church school not far from our house. So this year, Emory gets to come to school with me! I am very excited about my new job and really really like the people I will be working with. My assistant is so sweet and very helpful! I will have 11 students and we are the teddy bears! Emory will be a kangaroo and only 3 doors down from me!
So, as soon as August came I got into school mode! I had a ton to do b/c my room used to be a 2 year old room. After about a week, I realized I couldn't get too much done with my two sweet, sweet children making a mess playing. So, they got to spend a week at their Mimi and Granddaddy's house. They have had a blast and I have just about finished my room.... it's a win win for everyone! It's it so cute!!!

Most of my door decorations came from the dollar tree!

I found these chair covers and hat at The Christmas Tree Shoppe (love that place) for super cheap. Whenever it's some one's bday they will get to put the chair cover on a special chair and wear the hat.

 my calendar!

our classroom behavior chart. I found the plates at Christmas Tree Shoppe and thought they would work perfect. I love the way it turned out.

 Home living!
needs a little work, but they did tell me they are ordering me a new table.

ok..... I have absolutely OBSESSED over this stinkin' tree. I finally had to STOP and just decide that it looks good.

the tree with the lights on.
See the bear swinging from the swing in the corner? We have the same picture painted on the outside of our door.

 reading area.
All the letters we learn will hang on the ribbons as we learn them.
(not that you care, but I am getting a new easel- thank goodness b/c this one was driving me crazy!)

and I found these adorable baskets at the dollar store to help me stay organized!

I can't wait. I can handle 11 four years olds, right?????!!!

ha!

I never thought I would have a difficult time looking at a picture and knowing if were CC or Emory. But I was looking through my pictures and came across this one. I'm still not 100% sure, but I think it's Emory. Mainly b/c I remember her wearing this outfit (which is a hand-me-down from CC) at CC's 3k dance pictures.
Don't they look alike in this picture! Makes me smile, whichever one it is!!!!

Random phone pictures

I made a nap mat for Christian's new school. She has to bring a beach towel to sleep in but I know I like to have a little cover over me when I nap. So I made her a mat w/o stuffing so it will fit in her backpack. She picked the fabric. The inside has minky dot material so it will be soft. It turned out really cute and wasn't too hard to make- considering I didn't have a pattern to go by.

I had left over and made Emory an ishy!

Emory refused to nap one day but fell asleep around 6:00 like this! Woke up 45 minutes later confused and screaming for about 1.5 hours. After this day, I decided it was worth the battle of getting her to lay down for a nap!!!'

I went to target one night and took the note pad with my list. I tore my list off and found this sweet note on the next page! Made me smile during my whole target trip! Isn't my hubby sweet!

We met Mrs Morton for ice cream the other day. We had the best time and it made our day!!!! At one point, Emory looked at her and said "Mrs. Morton, I love you"!!!! If Mrs. Morton ever goes missing, the first place people should look is our house! My family might kidnap her!!! Everyone just adores her- teacher of the world in our opinion.

ticks

A few weeks ago, my dad came up to spend the day with us then play golf with some friends. When he got here, he wasn't feeling well. His had a sniff neck, horrible headache, and was extremely tired (all similar symptoms to when Bryan spent four days in the hospital from a tick bite). He slept most of the day and just seemed to get worse as the day went on. We talked him into skipping golf and sleeping in the next day. When he woke up, he said he wanted to go to the ER. So we KNEW he wasn't feeling well!!!!! Since it was so last minute, Bryan took the girls to work while I took my dad to the hospital.
Long story, short- my dad was admitted to the hospital and spent 4 days with Ehrlichiosis, a tick borne illness similar to Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever!

I kept checking in with Bryan to see how the girls were doing! One time when I asked, his response was "well- just cleaning up tee tee on my carpet"!!!!! He ran downstairs to get a cup of coffee and told the girls not to leave his office. A few minutes later he heard Emory crying. She needed to go to the potty REALLY bad, but he said not to leave his office! and the bathroom was right across the hall!!!

after a few days of the antibiotic, my dad began feeling better .The girls were super worried about Pawpaw. Emory kept looking at the IV in his arm and asking questions.

Dad- no more searching in the woods for your golf balls!!!!!!
