Easter Hunt

We had our 2nd annual Sunday School Easter BBQ at our house this past Saturday. There were about 40 children and adults here and we all had a great time! About 30 minutes after the party start (really when everyone started showing up, there was a big pop at the substation up from our house and OUR POWER WENT OUT!!!). I kinda freaked out but luckily it was such a pretty day and everyone was outside. About an hour later, the power, thankfully, came back on. I was was getting worried how we were going to fit so people (half of them under the age of 5!) in our house:):)
But it all worked out, and was a blast! Everyone brought eggs to hide for an easter egg hunt- the yard was covered with them! I'm sure all the kiddos slept well last night. Once again- I thought I took more pictures than I actually did, but I have a few good ones (and a full post coming up dedicated to all my pinterest crafts!!!!)

This little found a bucket of eggs before the egg hunt started! She was absolutely cracking me up! She also LOVED the pigs in a blanket- b/t the two of us we ate them all:):)

Emory still is not a big fan of crowds and realized there were A LOT of people around about 45 minutes into the party. She stuck with me the rest of the night:) She also had a hard time understanding why everyone was playing with her stuff!!

an attempt to get a group picture while the daddies hid the eggs. This isn't even all the kids and it's the best picture I got!

zoo day

Four mamas and eight kids headed to the zoo today! It was a lot of fun, but we decided they should pass out xanax with your ticket if you go during spring break! It wasn't too crowded towards the beginning, but by 11:30 it was crazy!

The lions were all out and the daddy even came by to talk to our group!

All three of these girls turn 3 with days of each other!!

We had a fun time today!

Emory's day

Emory's class celebrated Dr. Seuss last week!

Ms. Karen dressed up like cat in the hat!

All of them with their hats and bows!

The Foot Book day

Go Dogs Go day! They all brought in a stuffed doggie!

The celebrated St. patty's day last Friday. Emory wasn't there, but this is her BFF, Georgia. Aren't they cute!

Her fun teachers

Random picture- this is me and Emory sharing a diet coke while at the movies to see The Lorax. We also shared buttered popcorn (and daddy even went to get extra butter squirted on the bottom half!!!). She thought this was so fun and made me take a sip every time she did-ha!!

who do you believe?!

Emory and CC are back from Mimi and Grandaddy's house! They had a fantastic time. Here are the two stories we heard about the weekend:

Emory's story (began b/c she had a scratch on her hand she said came from a cat, and a little tiny tiny scratch on her leg, which started this story about her time at Mimi's house). All of this was told with a straight face without batting an eye:

  • Mimi and Grandaddy put her in timeout because she put headbands all over her face and tee-teed all over the place, and didn't go to church. They then called the police, who came to pick her up in a police car. She went to jail and had to be in jail with a green dinosaur that BIT HER ON THE LEG! Mimi then came to jail and said "Don't' put her in jail". Then the police man was nice and put her in the police car and took her to Mimi and Grandaddy's home.
While listening to this story, Christian told us a 'real-life' story:

  • Emory did spill water all over the carpet. Mimi yelled "get some paper towels". Emory refused. Mimi asked CC to get some paper towels. Christian and Mimi yelled for Grandaddy to get some paper towels.
Emory looked straight in Christian's face and said, "Dat not true, sissy." As if, there is no way that she would have spilt water and refused to help clean up, but could have been put in jail and been bitten by a dinosaur for putting headbands on her face!!!!

Which one do you believe???!!! I do know who I will turn to in their teenage years for the 'real-life' story!!!

PS. We might be dealing with a little bit of a grandparent hangover! Christian just yelled out from her bed in her room, "I NEED SOMEONE TO COME FLUFF MY PILLOW"!!!!. Mimi, you have SPOILED them rotten!!!!

Mini Mimi

This is CC getting ready for the ballet. Check out those long eye lashes! She told Gran she would be able to pick her out on stage by her eye lashes!!!
her face looks a little surprised here, huh?!

This is baby Allie! Doesn't she look like a doll baby! I just want to give that little belly a zerbet!!!
We still name everything that needs a name "baby Allie'. I wonder what we will call her when she's not a baby anymore! For some reason, I feel like she might be baby Allie for the rest of time:):) I one time just called her Allie, and Emory didn't know who I was talking about- ha!!

(Don't Mimi and the girls look so pretty!)
When we were at the doctor, I asked if it were okay if the girls go to their grandparents. The doctor was a  little hesitant, but said that if I were okay with the loving on the girls then it was okay but that is really all we could do. I then looked over at CC and she was quietly SOBBING- tears were just streaming down her face b/c she thought she wasn't going to be able to go see Mimi. She kept trying to act like she felt okay b/c she was scared she wasn't going to go. It was so cute. She has been so excited about spending time with Mimi, the artist (that is what she always tells me, "you know mama, Mimi is a real artist, like a REAL artist!"), and she was going to Taylor Swift's house (although, I kept telling her that they could just drive by to see what her house looked liked, she kept saying, "well, if her car is there then we can just go in to say hey":):)
I'm sure Mimi is going to sleep for the next few days b/c I know CC has not left her side. I'm sure Emory is right there with her, but CC wants to do everything Mimi is doing!!!!

 Mimi getting her hair 'did'!!!

they went to see the Charlotte's Web play too.
I know the girls are having a wonderful time and got plenty of lovin' to make them feel better!

Pity Party

This week has not been the best for the Congleton's:(......Starting Monday, Emory, Bryan, and Christian were super sick and stayed home from school/work. Then Wednesday, the girls went to spend a long weekend at Mimi and Granddaddy's house, even though they were still sick.

Then Thursday, I had a fatty tumor the size of a kiwi (nothing to worry about but they are still checking)  removed from my upper back- EWWWW!!!! Thank goodness it wasn't green- ha!

While getting ready for my procedure, I found this super long GRAY hair- another  EWWWWWW!!!! and the pity party began:).....

The doctor originally thought the tumor was the size of a golf ball, but realized it was bigger b/c it was intertwined in my muscle (ugh- gross, huh?!) Meaning, they had to cut into my muscle, which makes the recovery a little longer and more painful. Once I got home and settled, Bryan went back to work while I fell asleep. I woke up around 3:00 and realized I could not move AT ALL!!! So I was stuck laying down on the bed unable to move and in a lot of pain. I couldn't reach my medicine or drink and was having a huge crying pity party for myself. I was stuck for 2 1/2 hours until Bryan got home....it became a little bit funny towards the end of the 2 1/2 hours because I kept trying but couldn't do anything! All I could do was laugh (and cry!)

Bryan took the above picture of my back before the procedure and the doctor even let him take a picture of the kiwi size tumor b/c I told her he likes gross stuff like that- don't worry- I won't post it---it's a tad bit disgusting :):):)

Friday morning, Bryan got me all set up in the recliner with everything around me that I would need. His last words were "Don't drop the remote". Well, guess what happened! Around 9:30 I watched an On Demand preview of a movie and the damn remote fell on the floor!!! So, when the preview was over I was left to watch a blue screen until Bryan came home at 12:00 for lunch! Another pity party for me!

I soon realized that my back muscle is connected to almost every movement I make, making it VERY hard to move anything above my waist!

It is now Saturday night and I can finally sit up and move a little bit. But I am going INSANE! There is nothing on TV to watch and you can only look at Pinterest and Facebook for so long!!

Can you tell my pity party is still going on and about to get worse b/c I have to change out the bandage!!! This sucks! and I'm being a huge baby. Don't be surprised if Bryan shows up at your doorstep- just let him in! he's just looking for some normalcy:):)

The girls are having a great time at Mimi and Grandaddy's house though and feeling a lot better. They really are life savers for taking them so sick b/c there is no way they could have been here with me unable to move. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!  I'll post pictures of their fun time soon:)

Sleeping Beauty

CC had her first ballet this weekend, Sleeping Beauty. She debuted as a deer!  During rehearsal and the actual ballet, I had to drop her off at the door and wasn't allowed to go backstage or see her until after the show. So the first time we saw her costume was on stage during the actual show. She did great and loved every second of it! She was in two shows, so it took up the majority of our weekend which put her in a  little bit of a cranky mood on Sunday:)

We watched a you tube video on how to do the perfect ballet bun. CC said that they teachers commented on well done her bun was, and she said, 'yeah, I told them my mama had to watch a video on the computer on how to do it"- I'm sure they were laughing at me, or really happy that I did it correctly:0

She was so proud of herself when it was over. I think she felt like a big girl! Look at that face

This is the only picture I have of her as a deer, which I took illegally and got in trouble.
They said they have professional pictures of them during the show that will be available later, so hopefully I'll have a better picture of her in her costume.

Emory was really good during the 2 1/2 hour show. At the beginning, she asked ( about 50 times), "Where's Sissy?", and  towards the end would yell out "is it time to go bye-bye" every time people would clap at the end of a scene.

she was proud of her sissy too!

Gran and PawPaw came up to watch CC. they were proud too!!!

CC loved being in the ballet and has made her her mind that she wants to do point (or dance on your toes). She loved watching all the point ballet dancers and is serious about wanting to do it. From what a few moms said, she will have to be closer to 11 years old- once your ankles are strong enough and your feet are finished growing. Who knows?!
Emory slowly started getting sick as the day went on on Saturday. She woke up Sunday not feeling well and had a fever of 102 for most of the day. Bryan went to the doctor on Friday and ended up with an upper respiratory infection. He got a steroid shot that made him feel better but as the day went on on Sunday, he started feeling worse. Then when we got home from the ballet, CC took a nap and woke up not feeling well. Everyone woke up sick this morning, including me. So Bryan, Emory, and CC stayed home to get better. The girls went to the doctor- ear infections and red throats....no blood work or strep test, but they did get antibiotics that should help whatever they have. The girls seem to be a little better, but Bryan is still worse than he was before he went to the doctor.
Hopefully, everyone will be on the mend soon:):) and glad it happened AFTER the deer debut!
