fishing and softball

Bryan and CC love to go fishing (is this child mine?!). Everytime they come home with NO fish.
But this time, Emory tagged along (mama stayed home- no need to sweat and be around fish in my opinion!). She was really excited b/c it's usually a daddy and sissy thing. They finally caught a fish and Emory finally realized she didn't want to sweat and be around fish either! She came home saying it was hot and not fun! Now- I KNOW this one is mine- ha!

CC started fall ball and Bryan is the coach.
It's really funny to watch 6 and under softball (one of the girls is 3!!).

Emory and I play on the playground while CC and Daddy practice!
here is what Emory does when we get to school early!

Beach

We went to the beach with my parents at the end of July. It was a fun trip- sorry for the picture overload
We went to a GREAT restaurant called Stinky Fish Camp (or something like that). The food was fantastic!

All the girls with a tan!
we went to an Alvin's island and had fun playing around with all the classy stuff they had!
even Kanani got in on the fun!

we rented a boat for the day. The girls loved it. Bryan was a great captain.

about 10 minutes into the trip, we got pulled over by the coastguard (just checking to see if we had all the correct equipment on board). It was exciting for the girls, but made all of us a little nervous:)
We went to shell island, where they are supposed to have beautiful shells. It was really fun, but a REALLY long, hot walk to the side of the island with the shells.

We had a feeling we might not find some beautiful, whole shells so we bought a few at Alvin's Island the night before. I know it's cheating but it made the girls happy. I wish I had a picture of Bryan putting it in the water, then trying to 'find' it!
Seeing this picture makes me feel a little bad about 'tricking' the girls!

then we did a little fishing! We kept hearing we would definitely catch a fish- no luck with shells or fish:):)but it was fun

then we went to Baytowne and CC did the zip line again! The girl is a dare devil.

I insisted that I be the one to go up with her this time so I could take some pictures. I almost had a panic attack and had to hug the rail the entire time! We had to wait for a long time at the top and my legs were sore by the end b/c I was using all my strength to make sure I didn't fall (maybe a sign I need to work out!)

It was perfect weather and a perfect trip.
I LOVE THE BEACH!

VBS

With all the time I put into VBS and these are the only pictures I took! Regardless of the lack of pictures, it was an incredible week! I met a lot of people and made some good friends. It's amazing how stressful and time consuming it can be. But you kind of forget all that when you see all the kids and adults having a fun time and learning about Jesus! Can't wait until next year- in fact- we're already checking out themes for NEXT July!

See the sign- I made THIRTY of those signs. I am way to anal and next year won't stress out near as much about those signs. I did improve my vocabulary of adjectives and sea creatures though- ha!

Seeing 400 children singing what they learned in VBS made us all tear up and made it all worth it!

backtracking a little

I have tons of pictures flagged that I wanted to put on my blog, but just have done it. So, I'm going to play catch up.
Back in JULY, the girls went to spend some time at my parents house while I got ready for VBS (who knew being on the VBS committee was so time consuming! I absolutely loved it, but MAN- it's a lot of work to make 4 days with 400 children run smoothly!)
While the girls were there, they had a few horse riding lessons. Christian is obsessed with horse and loves every second she can spend with them (opposite of her mama!).  Emory is more like me and would just like to look at them from a distance. towards the end of the week, she ended up riding a little pony named Special. She still talking about it.

 CC walked around with Emory.

CC is really good and follows directions really well. She has caught on quickly and we even went on a horse back trail ride (is that what it's called- we rode horses in the woods! I even did and actually had fun- pictures to come)

look at how serious Emory is! not too sure of riding!

Check out Special's smile! Emory thought this was so funny!

Thanks mom and dad for watching the girls. They had a blast

Orange Slime

CC had her first softball game today. Their color is orange and team name is Orange Slime!!!! I kinda hate the name, but no one is asking me! But I DO LOVE THEIR SOCKS!!! How cute are they?!

Anyway, she did really really really well (better than I thought it would go to be honest). The coach pitches the ball the first 5 times, and if they can't hit it then they have to use the tee. She hit it 2 times from the coach's pitch, and only used the tee the last go round. I blame that on 3 of us standing right behind the fence yelling for her!! She did really well in the outfield too, and actually got and threw the ball to a base!

Bryan is one of the coaches. CC is number 25, just like her daddy was growing up. I have placed my order to get an 'orange slime' shirt with the number 25 on the back!

CC is action- running to home plate!

thank goodness there is a playground right next to the bleachers! A mom must of been involved in the design of the ball field! Emory played while we watched CC.

 Like Daddy, Like Daughter!

 1,2,3----Go ORANGE SLIME!
Pawpaw drove up to watch CC's first game. It made her (and Emory's) day! Thank you for doing that dad.

 more action shots.

besides having to be outside and sweaty, it was actually fun! So proud of my softball player!

Parent night

We had Christian's parent night tonight- for 2 solid hours!!!
But I absolutely LOOOOOOVE get teacher! She is like Mrs. Morton with long curly hair! I swear. She is perfect for Christian . She said she is doing great in class and said her and Thomas( her new friend and crush- that has her now back to only wanting to wear dresses and skirts!)are really sweet to watch be friends.
Here is some of her writing she has done so far in her writing journal. I think she's brilliant!!!

This is about me. I like cats and I like my family and my favorite color is pink. The end

I like watching tv. And I like jumping on a trampoline. And I like reading a book.

I can tie my shoe (she is on the shoe expert list in the class to help others!). I can jump. I can pet a cat. I can put myself to bed.

I help mom and dad clean the car (not true!!) and I help mom put my sister to sleep.
